HICHI DEMI

Hichi Demi (* in Stuttgart) ist Schauspielerin, Autorin und interdisziplinäre Künstlerin. In ihrer Arbeit verbindet sie Körper, Sprache und Raum und bewegt sich zwischen Performance, Installation, Film und Theater. Dabei erweitert sie klassische Theaterformen um Elemente aus Video, Klang und Bewegung.

Nach ihrer Schauspielausbildung an der Crearte International Acting Academy in Stuttgart studierte sie Film- und Theaterwissenschaften an der Freien Universität Berlin. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit für Film, Fernsehen und Theater entwickelt sie eigene künstlerische Arbeiten an der Schnittstelle von Performance, postdramatischem Theater und ortsspezifischer Kunst.

Von 2018 bis 2023 war sie Teil von Şermola Performans und realisierte als Performerin, Produzentin und Projektmanagerin zahlreiche Theater- und Performanceproduktionen in Köln und Berlin. Im Zentrum ihrer Arbeit stehen Fragen von Erinnerung, Identität, Zugehörigkeit und Widerstand. 2022 entwickelte sie das Projekt Our Displaced Stories, das sich mit Identität(en), Intersektionalität und narrativen Strukturen auseinandersetzt. Ihre Solo-Ausstellung OUR DISPLACED STORIES VOL. 2 war von November 2025 bis April 2026 bei Mouches Volantes in Köln zu sehen. 2026 realisierte sie zudem die Performance WHEN I SAW YOU AT THE FLOWER PASSAGE.

Hichi Demi (born in Stuttgart) is an actress, writer and interdisciplinary artist. In her work, she combines the body, language and space, moving between performance, installation, film and theatre. In doing so, she expands traditional forms of theatre to include elements of video, sound and movement.

Following her acting training at the Crearte International Acting Academy in Stuttgart, she studied film and theatre studies at the Free University of Berlin. Alongside her work in film, television and theatre, she develops her own artistic projects at the intersection of performance, post-dramatic theatre and site-specific art.

From 2018 to 2023, she was part of Şermola Performans and, as a performer, producer and project manager, realised numerous theatre and performance productions in Cologne and Berlin. Her work centres on questions of memory, identity, belonging and resistance. In 2022, she developed the project Our Displaced Stories, which explores identity(ies), intersectionality and narrative structures. Her solo exhibition OUR DISPLACED STORIES VOL. 2 was on display at Mouches Volantes in Cologne from November 2025 to April 2026. In 2026, she also staged the performance WHEN I SAW YOU AT THE FLOWER PASSAGE.
